Location

Benalmadena is located 19km west of Malaga city centre and just 9km from Torremolinos. It is another of the southern coast’s most popular tourist resorts, not to mention the large amount of year round cosmopolitan residents who are full time residents here – the town has a total population of just under 56,000. Benalmadena is home to the famous Tivoli World, Selwo Marina, Sea Life and the Estupa Budista (Buddhist Stupa, or Buddhist Temple to you and me!)

The municipality is divided into three separate smaller towns; Benalmadena Pueblo being the first, which is located on the mountain side of the A7 coastal road and 300 metres above sea level, enjoying stunning views back down to the coast. The second is Arroyo de la Miel, which lies between Benalmadena Pueblo and Benalmadena Costa, which Is where most of the population in the area live, and where the majority of businesses are located. The area has a wide variety of amenities, including a sports complex, bilingual library, as well as a large selection of bars and restaurants. The popular family theme park, Tivoli World, is also located here, as well as the world famous Butterfly Park (Mariposario de Benalmadena) - both of which are well worth a visit with the family. The third and final area is Benalmadena Costa, where you (of course) will find the stunning Golden Sandy beaches and the fabulous award winning Marina!
